The wording below is a structure, not a set of terms. It has not been written or reviewed by anyone qualified to write one, and it must be replaced before launch.
About these terms
These terms cover your use of this website. They do not cover any consultancy work we carry out for you, which is governed by a separate agreement.
TODO: confirm whether a separate engagement agreement exists for bill reviews and consultancy work. If it does not, one is needed, and it should be referenced here.
Who we are
LEAD Energy Consultancy Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17111741. Our registered office is B2, 1 Victoria Plaza, Oxford Street, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL1 1RD. You can contact us at admin@leadenergyconsultancy.org or on 07762 463059.
We run this website.
What this site is, and is not
The guides and explanations on this site are general information about UK energy billing. They are not advice about your particular account, your tariff or your circumstances.
TODO: have this reviewed. The line between general information and regulated advice matters, and where energy brokerage or switching services are concerned it is worth being certain which side of it this sits on.
Accuracy
We take care to keep the information here accurate and current. Energy prices, tariffs and regulations change frequently, including on the Ofgem price cap dates in January, April, July and October, and information that was correct when published may not be correct when you read it.
Our liability
TODO: this section needs drafting by someone qualified. Limitation of liability wording that is unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is unenforceable, and a clause copied from another site is more likely to be unfair than not.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation, such as Ofgem or the Energy Ombudsman, we are not responsible for the content of that site.
Intellectual property
The content of this site belongs to LEAD Energy Consultancy unless stated otherwise.
TODO: confirm what is licensed rather than owned, including the typeface and any icons.
Governing law
TODO: confirm jurisdiction. England and Wales is the likely answer but it should be stated deliberately rather than assumed.
